Outreach
The Machine Interaction lab and its members are active in Santa Cruz, The greater bay area, and online in outreach events. Founder Michael Wehner co-organized Play Day during the first six years of Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA., the largest exhibit at Maker Faire, where children of all ages were invited to re-purpose and up-cycle electronics from local E-waste facilities and invent their own "treasures".
The group has been active in local schools teaching children about robotics, and regularly participates in local First Gen events (supporting potential students who are the first in their family to attend university).
